Description

1980s sci-fi comedy directed by Susan Seidelman ('Desperately Seeking Susan'). John Malkovich stars in a dual role as both scientist Dr Jeff Peters, inventor of a robotic clone of himself, and Dr Peters' creation, an android named Ulysses. Believing that Ulysses could do with a bit more emotional identity, Dr Peters' company hire top PR consultant and image-maker Frankie Stone (Ann Magnuson) to train the robot in human behaviour. It isn't long before she has imbued him with all the feelings and sentiments that make him the man of her dreams - and what is more, he's falling madly in love with her...
